Organic or not?

Organic or not? This is something that I really hadn't thought too much about or even cared too much about before I started changing my habits. I used to think organic was too expensive and not worth it. I will confess that it does cost more- even if just initially- to purchase organic. But I have also discovered the benefits of the organic things I have bought.

So far I have bought-
  • organic oranges
  • organic apples
  • organic kiwi fruit
  • organic honey
  • organic flour
  • organic drinking chocolate
  • organic chocolate
  • organic yoghurt

Not that many things I know but all have surprised me. I could not get over the difference in taste between the organic oranges and the normal ones. It was amazing. And worth the $4 difference in price and 1kg less of oranges that I got. I was thrilled to get some organic oranges and kiwifruit on markdown yesterday which made the difference in cost minimal.

The one thing I can't find yet is eggs. I will have to check the health food store out for that one. Coles has a wonderful range of organic products, and most in their own brand which is more affordable.

I am going make a conscious effort to buy, or at least consider the organic alternative when I can. I am not rushing into this one or throwing all our other food items away. I will just replace when I need to with organic if I can.
