Fruit, fruit, glorious fruit!

Consciously eating fruit and only fruit until lunch time is quite enjoyable. So far, so good really. I am enjoying fresh fruit and a variety of different juices- some I liked and one I didn't. I just had pineapple, apple, lime and  passionfruit juice which has given me renewed energy for the day. Sunday I tried apple, carrot and celery which I did not like. I think I will try that one again but with green apples not red ones, and whole carrots not carrot pieces. All I could taste was celery and it reminded me of some different herbal concoctions from the naturopath from many years ago.

I must tell you I am loving my juicer. I only wish I had been able to get my sister-in-law Tracey one too. She is having no luck with the one she purchased- sorry Tracey.

I have learnt a few things about juicing too-
  • do not put passionfruit through the juicer- simply add the pulp to the juice
  • do not cut fruit and veg too small otherwise it does not juice as finely as it could
  • bananas are too expensive to put through the juicer- although the taste was amazing- best to add a pulped/mashed banana to the juice
  • juice is best served in a glass with ice
  • make sure you peel the skin of any fruit that you would not normally eat the skin of- oranges, limes, kiwi fruit, watermelon- the skins are often too thick and if juiced are quite bitter- carrots are ok skin on if they are fresh
