I love being at the coast. The sun, the sand, the lifestyle, the beautiful salty air that just makes me feel so healthy. The last 2 weeks at Noosa were such a blessing- and despite the large number of hot chocolates I consumed I was feeling great. I was most excited that my dermetitis had cleared up too.
Then, within 24 hours of being back in Dalby I feel blah! There really is no other word to describe it. My 'environmental' dermititis has returned and I feel blah! Like someone switched a switch.
I have long suspected that I should not eat flour products- bread, rice, pasta- and for the most part I do not eat them. I always know when I have eaten something that I shouldn't because I am cranky and feel like I am having a hot flush, sometimes I feel light headed, othertimes 'foggy in the head', and usually bloated.
Today I came across an article that attributes hot flushes, bloating and dermititis to an intolerance to gluten. I have often wondered about this for myself- just because I know how I feel when I do eat gluten products like bread, pasta and cakes. So maybe my body is trying to tell me something. Maybe I need to avoid gluten?
I checked out a few websites and this really isn't as difficult as it used to be. For me not having bread, pasta and cakes is not as big a sacrifice as it would be to give up cheese or dairy. So now I just need to make a more conscious effort to avoid those things that make me feel bad. Sounds simple right?
One thing I am thankful for is that Tim Tams don't give me any of these symptoms. Maybe I should start a new diet "The Tim Tam Diet". What do you think? Can't be any more crazy than the cabbage diet or tomato soup diet...
