Farewell Warwick Christian College!

Friday 25th June 2010

Well, today we said farewell to Warwick Christian College. With books packed and uniforms sold it was time to say our goodbyes. I was brave until they prayed for Kaleb at devotion- then the tears rolled.

They had a special afternoon tea before heading home which was so lovely and which I got through tear free. It was only when we said goodbye to Miss Hughes that I got teary again.

Kaleb was so sweet about it and asked "why do you have water on your face?".

He is rather excited about his new school in Dalby and we really do pray that he settles well and finds lots of lovely new friends to add to all the wonderful friends he made at Warwick.

Cross Country

Wednesday 23rd June 2010

Today was Kaleb's cross country at school. They have been training for weeks for the 'real event' so there was much anticipation about the race today. Kaleb ran a great race and finished first for his age.

18 weeks today!

Tuesday 22nd June 2010

We are almost half way- and the time is just flying! It is hard to believe we are 18 weeks already. All is going well and the morning sickness has gone which is great. I am really enjoying this part of the pregnancy- although my blood pressure is up- so I am looking forward to moving and settling and putting my feet up and watching my blood pressure go down... (hopefully anyway).

We are not finding out whether it is a boy or a girl but general consensus is that it will be a girl- no one is willing to say it'll be a boy. Either way I really don't mind! Dr McLaughlin did remind me that the odds of having a girl after 2 boys is quite slim- but stranger things do happen. I think Kaleb will be most upset if it is not a girl- but I am sure he'll adjust just fine. Joel really loves babies at the moment and is still most taken by Kayla so I am sure he'll just love having one of his own.

Almost on the move...

Well, there is only one week to go until we move to Dalby. Jas officially starts at Coles Dalby on Wednesday and will be spending the later half of this coming week out there. It has come around all too soon...

Wedding Cupcakes

Friday 18th June 2010

Well, what a labour of love! A couple from church got married on Friday (with only 2 weeks to plan and execute) and I helped cater for the afternoon tea.

I made nearly 100 cupcakes- half were chocolate mud cake, the other half white chocolate mud cake- with ganache icing and hearts.

The bride and groom loved them which was the most important thing- and they tasted good too.

Today I am 15 weeks pregnant!

This is the cruisey time in pregnancy and I am thrilled that morning sickness has died down very dramatically (wahoo!!!). It's a funny stage in pregnancy though as you don't feel pregnant and don't really look pregnant but you know that you are. My clothes are beginning to feel a bit tighter so out have come the maternity clothes and the saviour for pregnancy- the belly belt! Our Pastor and his wife had a baby a couple of weeks ago and seeing him and hearing him cry makes me want these next 24 weeks to fly- and no doubt they will with moving and settling and all- but at the same time I want to enjoy the time as the 4 of us too.

Kaleb is still adamant that he wants a sister (not a brother- he already has one of those- he wants 2 boys and 2 girls in the family...) and asked me the other day if I could put my head in my tummy to see if it was a boy or a girl. Thankfully they have special cameras for that! His name for bub at the moment is Barbie!

My next doctors appointment is in a couple of weeks but at this stage we are not going to find out whether it is a boy or girl. We are blessed either way (although I am slightly outnumbered at the moment so a 'pink' one would help even that out...).

Our Student of the Week

Kaleb was awarded Student of the Week for the Prep-Year One class 'For working well when learning new sounds and words'.
