Kaleb's First Day of School

Wednesday 27th January 2010
Today was Kaleb's first day at school. He was sooooo excited and wanted to get into his uniform hours before he needed to. He helped me pack his lunch and packed his bag ready for the big day. (There were no tears from him, but a few from mum...).

Once at school he was a bit quieter but still happy to be there and settled in quite quickly- especially when his teacher, Miss Hughes, brought out a Policeman Puppet. He was very much at home in his class- when asked to introduce himself and say one thing he did on his holidays, he and every boy in his class said that they played the Wii. I am sure he will make some wonderful friends.
Kaleb is in Prep and is going to Warwick Christian College. He is in a class of 10 and it is a combiend Prep and Grade One class. The school is only small- about 40 students all up- and it was quite sureal when they all lined up to go into the class rooms and there was such a small number of students. Jas looked at me and said "is this the whole school?"

Once Kaleb was settled, there was a parents morning tea which was a nice way to meet other parents from the school. It is soooo refreshing to be surrounded by Christian parents and I just know that Kaleb will be so blessed at this school. We are truely grateful.
No doubt there are plenty of volunteer opportunities that we'll be able to get involved in... once we find our feet.

Day out with Thomas

Friday 15th January 2010

Today we went for a special trip to the 'Day out with Thomas' at the Ipswich Railway Museum. We had a great day and the boys were really interested in all of the train memorbilia and information. We met the Fat Controller and saw Thomas, D199, Donald & Douglas, Annie & Claribel, Lady, James, Edward, Trevor & George. We coloured in, played, watched a new Thomas episode and listened to the Fat Controller tell stories.

As well as the Thomas exhibition there is all of the other train exhibits which take you through the rail history. This was truly very interesting and an eye opener. Kaleb even got to drive a simulation of what it would be like to drive a train today.

The highlight of Kaleb's day was going for a train ride. Joel just walked around pointing at the train's faces all day. After a long day out they both slept on the way home.

Joel's now 18 months!

Thursday 14th January 2010

Today Joel turned 18 months. He is quite a cheeky little guy who loves playing outside and being where his big brother is. He is a mummy's boy and loves kisses and cuddles. Now that he's walking the world is one big playground and his personality is really starting to come out. We love you little guy.

Farewell Aunty Rene!

Tuesday 12th January 2010

Today we farewelled Aunty Rene- you might remember the blog from her 100th birthday back in August 2009. Aunty Rene passed away peacefully late last week. Thank you for the wonderful memories of days spent at the farm, eating your yummy cooking and milking the cows.

Fun in the sun!

Monday 11th January 2010

Yesterday was such a lovely day and I had a great time outside with the boys. It was the first time in ages that I just got to take photos of them. Here are some of the better photos.

Swimming Lessons

Monday 4th- Friday 8th January 2010

This week Kaleb attended the School Holiday Intensive Swimming Lessons every day at 9.30am. He had so much fun learning to swim and his teacher was very impressed with his skills and enthusiasm. He has moved from shrimp level to tadpole and will be doing swimming lessons of a Wednesday afternoon after school.

CHRISTMAS 2009

Sunday 20th December 2009

Today we celebrated Christmas with the Brown family at Aunty Kathy's house. It was a rainy Toowoomba day but we had fun playing with all of the rellies. Thanks Grandma & Grandad for the lovely gifts- a shirt and colouring book for Kaleb and Roll-a-long balls for Joel.

Wednesday 23rd December 2009

The Lange's came to visit during their Christmas holiday in Toowoomba. We had a great time playing and catching up. Thanks for the visit. Come back anytime- actually, I think we are due for a Mackay holiday in 2010.

Friday 25th December 2009

Happy Christmas! It was a fairly early start to the day with Kaleb running into our bedroom shouting "It's Christmas". We had fun opening presents and riding the new toys. Kaleb got a Diego bike, Lego and an Ice Age lunch set. Joel got a Little Tikes Coupe and Petrol pump, clippo, a 'Joel' cup and a train track. Mum and dad got a Wii Fit Plus (what a time of year to get fit!)!

We spent the day at Nana & Pa's with the Lange's and had a really lovely day. The boys played well together and had lots of fun. We ate lots of yummy food but most of all just enjoyed the time together. Thanks Lange's for the Ice Age 3 DVD and towel and Mega Bloks. Thanks Nana & Pa for the Doctors set and dress ups, and puzzle, bubble blower and tractor!

(Jas had to work Boxing Day so we headed back to Warwick)

Sunday 27th December 2009

Today it was Christmas Day with Nana & Grandad, Uncle Adam and Aunty Tracey. We had a lovely time eating and playing and spending time together. Thanks Nana & Grandad for the Diego Wii Game and Ice Age 3 colouring in book, and activity table. Thanks Uncle Adam & Aunty Tracey for the Lego and Colin CD and Dog chair.

In the afternoon we celebrated with the Tucker's at Tuck and Dale's. No christmas is complete without a swim in their pool so we spent a lovely time in their pool. Thanks Nana & Grandad for the Pirate Game, towel and togs, and Clippo Hippo and Towel.
