Jacob's Party at Darling Downs Zoo

Saturday 28th November 2009

Jacob celebrated his birthday with a day out at Darling Downs Zoo. The kids all had a great day learning about all the animals that are homed at the Zoo. It was an awefully hot day out in the open and the animals were trying their hardest to stay cool as well. We saw snakes, crocodiles, aligators, turtles, different birds, deer, monkies, baboons, camels, llama, emu, wallabies, kangaroos and wombats, but the coolest animals of all were definetly the lions and the marmoicettes- they are sooooo cute! Kaleb hand fed a llama and a deer.

As good as the animals were, all the kids were just as happy playing hide and seek at lunch time. Happy Birthday Jacob! Thanks for a great day out.

Kindy Christmas Party

Friday 27th November 2009

Friday night Kindy celebrated the year with their Christmas Party. There was a jumping castle, snow cones, face painting, food and plenty of playing. It was a fun night and Kaleb really didn't want to go home. He had his face painted as Spiderman and thought that that was pretty cool!

Christmas Sid

Thursday 26th November 2009

To welcome in Christmas, Rose City Shopping Centre had a Christmas Party on Thursday night with special guest Sid the Sloth from Ice Age. Both boys loved seeing him and played 'Sid Says' with him. Kaleb and Jas also went on the spinning tea cup ride.

Our New Car

Tuesday 17th November 2009

We decided that it was time to change cars to a bigger second car so we said goodbye to our beloved X-Trail and now have a 2003 Camry Altise. There is plenty of space in it for two growing boys- Kaleb is very pleased that it "fits" him!

Walking

Joel is now a member of the walking club! He began taking steps in mid October and was comfortably walking by early November. He looks so cute walking and gets around quite efficently.

Getting to know Prep Day

Wednesday 4th November 2009

Kaleb had his first morning at Prep today. He went to school from 8.30-10.30am and stayed without mum. He played games, did some art, counted to 20 and learnt to read a book called "I am a". There are 6 Prep students at his school next year, and 2 of them were there with him on Wednesday. His teachers name is Miss Hughes and he also spends time with Mrs Woods (who goes to our church). He even got to try on his uniform for next year and we brought one shirt home (which he now proudly hangs on his door)! He is very excited about going to school at Warwick Christian College next year and was terribly upset when I picked him up on Wednesday. He has 2 more times at Prep this year to become more familiar before he goes next year.

After spending the morning there on Wednesday, I realised how fortunate we are to have such a beautiful school for Kaleb to go to. God certainly ticked that box for us when we moved here from Goondiwindi!
