11 months old!

Sunday 14th June 2009

Joel is 11 months old. He has grown up so much this month- probably now that he's crawling. He loves to play in Kaleb's room, and the two of them usually play quite well together- until they want the same toy. He had his first haircut during the month which makes him look all grown up too.

Trip to Inglewood

Friday 12th June 2009

Inglewood is about half way between Warwick and Goondiwindi, and so a perfect place to meet up with our friends from Goondiwindi. The Dodd's met us there for a catch up over a picnic lunch. It was a lovely day and the weather was surprisingly lovely too. The kids all had fun playing and eating and so too did the mum's. All too soon though it was time to head back home.

Frost & Frozen Pipes

Friday 12th June 2009

When people tell you that Warwick gets cold, what they really mean is that it's freezing!!! Yesterday it was -2.1. At the moment it is 2. All I know is there is a huge sheet of frost on the lawn and we have NO HOT WATER. The pipes are FROZEN!!!! Poor Jas went off to work with a cold shower- not a great way to start the day. I am hoping that there'll be hot water when I want a shower or things could get ugly! Flying North for the Winter now makes so much sense. We are blessed to have a warm house but what do we do when we need/ want to go out???

NOTE TO SELF- make sure the gas bottle is open if you want hot water. Although the pipes were frozen, Jas also forgot to turn on the gas when he wanted hot water...

Darling Downs Zoo visit at Kindy

Tuesday 9th June

Today Steve from Darling Downs Zoo visited Kindy with some reptiles. Kaleb was quite worried about the crocodile so mummy went along for moral support. Steve brought 'Junior' turtle and his mum, a blue tongue and a shingle backed lizard, a crocodile called 'Snappy Jack', and a python. Even though he was a bit worried, Kaleb touched all of the reptiles and seemed to enjoy the visit- mum on the other hand wasn't so convinced about touching a snake...

Family Fishing Competition

Queen's Birthday Long Weekend

One of the advantages of living in Warwick is how much closer it is to Brisbane and the Coasts. This year we joined the family fishing competition in Noosaville- any excuse for a weekend away at Twin Quays! The boys went boating and fishing and did their bit for the fishing competition. Kaleb enjoyed being Captain of Grandad's boat. Jas got the fishing bug- getting up before 6am to go fishing!

Congrats to Uncle AJ who took out the fishing competition with a convincing haul of fish. Nana also shared the women's trophy title!

Happy Birthday to Aunty Tracey too! How nice to have a weekend away for your birthday each year- even if it is for fishing- there'll always be shops and coffee!
